The syntax for the SUMIFS function is:

=SUMIFS ( Sum_range, Criteria_range1, Criteria1, Criteria_range2, Criteria2, …)

If the formula needs to be made absolute, enter $ (dollar sign) before the letter of a column or a line number in the reference to a cell, for example, $А$1. When you will make it, it is unimportant, where you will copy the formula, she all as will refer to the same cells. Sometimes, however, it is possible to enter many formulas containing not absolute, but relative References. Usually it becomes that if you copy an initial cell with the formula downwards or sideways, the reference to a line or a column has changed in appropriate way.
Besides, sometimes formulas enter, using both relative, and absolute
References, wishing to reproduce the same formulas in other range on the same work sheet, on other sheet in the same working book or, probably, on other sheet of other working book. It can be made, without changing the reference to ranges in formulas.
Allocate a range of cells which wish to copy. Choose a command Edit -> Replace and in the field Find What enter “=” (equal-sign).
In the field to Replace With enter “@” (a sign commercial at) or any other symbol which, you are assured, is not used in one formula. Click on the button to Replace All. In all formulas on your work sheet instead of an equal-sign there will be a symbol.
Now you can simply copy this range, insert it on a proper place, allocate and choose a command Edit> Replace. This time replace a symbol on “=” (equal-sign). The copied formulas will refer to the same cells, as initial.

Cause

This problem occurs if both of the following conditions are true:

• You create a cell comment in any cell in a column.

  -and-

• You try to hide the column to the left of the column with the cell comment, the column with the cell comment, and all the columns to the right of the column with the cell comment.

For example, this problem occurs if you place a cell comment in cell IR1, and then try to hide columns IQ:IV (at one time).

NOTE: Depending on the location of the column that contains the cell comment, you receive the error if you try to hide the column with the cell comment and all the columns to the right of the column with the cell comment.

Solution

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:

1) Because cell comments are hidden by default, select the cell containing the comment, right-click the cell, and then click Show Comment on the shortcut menu.

2) If the workbook is not shared, move the pointer to the edge of the comment until the pointer turns into four small black arrows. Click the comment to select the comment object. If the workbook is shared, move the pointer to the edge of the comment until the pointer turns into a white arrow pointer. Click the comment to select the comment object.

3) On the Format menu, click Comment. In the Format Comment dialog box, click the Properties tab.

4) Click “Move and size with cells,” and then click OK.

5) If you want to hide the cell comment again, right-click the cell and click Hide Comment on the shortcut menu.

When you hide the columns, you do not receive the error message.

Cause (according to Microsoft)
This problem occurs when the workbook contains more than approximately 4,000 different combinations of cell formats. A combination is defined as a unique set of formatting elements that are applied to a cell.
A combination includes:

• font formatting (for example: typeface, font size, italic, bold, and underline),
• borders (for example: location, weight, and color),
• cell patterns,
• number formatting,
• alignment,
• and cell protection.

NOTE: If two or more cells share exactly the same formatting, they use one formatting combination. However, if there are any differences in formatting between the cells, each cell uses a different combination.

Cause (according to real life)
Amount of cell formats is doubling during the copying of worksheet.

Solution (according to Microsoft)
To resolve this problem, simplify the formatting in the workbook. For example, the following are suggestions for simplifying formatting:

• Use a standard font.

Using the same font for all cells reduces the number of formatting combinations.

• If you use borders in a worksheet, use them consistently.

NOTE: If you apply a border to the right side of a cell, it is not necessary to apply a border to the left side of the cell that is to the right because the borders overlap.

• If you apply patterns to the cells, remove the patterns by clicking No Color in the Patterns tab of the Format Cells dialog box.

NOTE: After you simplify or standardize the formatting in the workbook, save, close, and then reopen the workbook before you apply additional cell formatting.

Solution (according to real life)
[Pessimistic] Clear all cells formats (Edit –> Clear –> Formats). Mark cells again.
[Modern] Use Microsoft Office Excel 2007. This version allows to use 64,000 (sixteen times as much than in Excel 2003) combinations of cell formats maximum.
[Uncomfortable] Try to work with few workbooks (files), which contains not so many worksheets.
[Advanced] Open file in OpenOffice Calc. Save it in ODS format (OpenOffice internal format). Open again and save in Excel format.
[Unstable] Close file with saving and open.
